The Colorado Ballet performed "Cinderella." Ellie Caulkins Opera House was bustling with many people. I was able to truly experience the reputation of the Colorado Ballet. The performance began with Cinderella, her stepmother, and two stepsisters. The Colorado Ballet portrayed this scene comically. It was very different from the sad feeling I had when reading the fairy tale book. Whenever Cinderella's stepsisters appeared, the audience burst into laughter. The plot of the performance was not much different from the fairy tale "Cinderella." The only difference was that the two stepsisters were portrayed in a very comical way. Dana Benton and Yosvani Ramos' acting and dance skills stood out in this performance. The ballerina and ballerino were depicting "Cinderella" on stage with all their might. Especially the scene where the prince and Cinderella dance together at the end was amazing. The beautiful and graceful dance, like two swans, made the audience involuntarily marvel. • [Culture] 2022 Nan Desu Kan, at Gaylord Rockies

  (Colorado = Wongeol Jeong) Colorado’s premier convention for Japanese culture and animation, NAN DESU KAN has returned for its 25th year, taking place at the Gaylord Rockies Resort in Aurora, Colorado over Labor Day Weekend September 2nd through September 4th. What began in 1995 as a small anime festival at the Tivoli Student Union has expanded over the years into a grand celebration of Japanese anime, art, comics, music, games, and culture. As it’s expanded, NDK has outgrown various Denver-area hotels. Now in its new home in the Gaylord Rockies, NDK will be a gathering place for thousands of guests for years to come. Each year, NDK and the RMAA (the non-profit organization that produces NDK) helps raise funds for charitable organizations thru events like the NDK Charity Auction. NDK 2022’s Charity is the Maria Droste Counseling Center. A Denver-based nonprofit mental health service organization comprised of mental health professionals, learners, and volunteers, The Maria Droste Counseling Center provides accessible, high-quality, community-centered mental health counseling.
