The former defender also gave a speech to the crowd, thanking the Rapids organization and fans for their support over the years. "It's an incredible honor to be inducted into the Colorado Rapids Gallery of Honor," Moor said. "This club has meant so much to me, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have played here for so many years." Moor was a key member of the Rapids' first two MLS Cup championship teams in 2006 and 2010. He was also named to the MLS Best XI in 2010 and 2011. Moor retired from professional soccer in 2018. However, the First Round also saw several teams with proud histories in the Open Cup fall at the first hurdle. Motown FC, who were the farthest-progressing open division team last year, stumbled out 2-1 against Manhattan SC in the Bronx. The 14 First Round games were tightly contested affairs, with four games needing at least extra time to separate the sides, while a further six were decided by a single goal. In terms of the overall performance of amateur teams, the road teams improved their performance this year, winning five matches in the First Round compared to just one triumph in 2022. USL League 2 saw four of its teams advance, while fellow national amateur league NPSL had six clubs make it through. Four open division sides rounded out the winning contingent. The 14 victorious First Round sides will now be joined by 24 professional Division II (USL Championship) and 21 Division III (USL League One and NISA) clubs in the competition’s Second Round. The Second Round will feature 29 games across three nights of drama and glory, beginning with 11 matches on Tuesday, April 4. The Second Round will then build into an 18-game match day on Wednesday, April 5 before concluding with one final contest on April 6. Select Second Round games will be streamed on the Bleacher Report app and B/R Football YouTube channel. As the tournament progresses, the possibility of Cupsets becomes a reality, with amateur teams facing off against professional competition in the Second Round. The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup has a rich history of underdog stories, and fans will be eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this legendary competition.
