The team also overcame a two-goal deficit in their first game of the season against Edmonton on January 7, 2023, ultimately winning 3-2 in overtime. The Avalanche are now 10-5 in games decided beyond regulation, including a 6-2 record in overtime. [NHL] Colorado Avalanche Sets Franchise Record with 10th Consecutive Road Win
- (Denver = Wongeol Jeong) The Colorado Avalanche have been on a roll lately, breaking their own franchise record by winning their 10th consecutive road contest. The previous record of nine straight road wins was set back in February-March 2020. With this victory, the Avalanche has a remarkable 14-1-0 record in their last 15 road outings and a 17-2-1 record in their last 20 away games from the Mile High City. The team's 28 road wins this season ranks second in the NHL, only trailing behind the Boston Bruins, who have won 30 games on the road. The Avalanche's recent success is partly due to their impressive performance in California, where they wrapped up a four-game road trip, finishing 4-0-0 and collecting all eight possible points. Over the last four seasons (since 2019-20), the Avs have a stellar 20-5-0 record in the state of California, going 7-2-0 in Los Angeles, 6-2-0 in San Jose, and 7-1-0 in Anaheim. The Avs have also extended their streak to 11 consecutive wins in the Golden State. The Avalanche has been dominant in back-to-back games, finishing their 12th back-to-back of the campaign and sweeping seven of their last nine sets of back-to-back games. They have an impressive overall record of 17-5-2 (.750) in back-to-back contests and are 9-2-1 on the second night, which is the best record on the second night of a back-to-back in the NHL. The Avs have also been successful in games that go beyond regulation time, with a 15-6 record in games decided past regulation and a 9-3 record in overtime. Their 15 wins beyond 60 minutes lead the league. Colorado's success this season is also partly due to their ability to score the first goal of the game. They have done so 49 times this season, the most of any team in the NHL. When scoring first, the Avalanche is an impressive 39-7-4, the second-most wins behind the Boston Bruins, who have won 42 games when potting the first goal. Finally, the Avs played on Easter Sunday for the sixth time since moving to Denver, with the first game being played back in the 2017-18 season. The team has an impressive record of 4-1-1 all-time on Easter. In conclusion, the Colorado Avalanche has had an outstanding season, with their impressive record on the road being a testament to their dominance. With their recent streak of wins and impressive performance in back-to-back games and games beyond regulation time, the Avalanche is proving to be a tough team to beat. The team's ability to score the first goal of the game is also a significant advantage. The Avs are definitely a team to watch out for as the NHL season draws to a close.

[NHL] Colorado Avalanche Dominates the Ice with Impressive Record
- (Denver = Wongeol Jeong) The Colorado Avalanche's recent victory against the Dallas Stars not only secured their third win in a four-game season series, but also marked their 10th win in their last 12 games. With a record of 17-5-1 in their last 23 games, the Avs are currently one of the hottest teams in the league. Additionally, their strong home form continues, as they are 12-5-2 in their last 19 home games. Colorado's success this season has been largely due to their dominance against the Central Division. They boast an impressive 17-6-1 record against divisional opponents, with a home record of 9-2-1. Their consistent performance on Saturdays is also noteworthy, as they have a league-leading 16-4-0 record on that day. The Avs' Saturday record is the second-highest winning percentage in the league, just behind the Boston Bruins. One of the key factors in the Avalanche's success has been their power play. In their recent victory against the Stars, they scored one of their three power-play opportunities. The Avs have now scored with the man advantage in 13 of their last 14 games, converting 35.6% of their power-play opportunities during that stretch. The Avalanche's ability to score the first goal of the game has also been a major contributing factor to their success this season. With their recent first goal against the Stars, Colorado has now scored the opening goal in 47 games this season, the most of any team in the league. When they score first, the Avs have an impressive record of 36-7-4, making them the third-most successful team in the league in that category. Overall, the Colorado Avalanche's recent victory against the Dallas Stars was another strong performance in what has been a great season for the team. With their dominant record against divisional opponents, strong home form, and consistent power play, the Avalanche are a force to be reckoned with in the NHL.

He also matched the Avalanche/Nordiques record for most overtime goals in a season, a mark also achieved by Cale Makar (3 in 2021-22), Nathan MacKinnon (3 in 2017-18), Tyson Barrie (3 in 2013-14), and David Jones (3 in 2011-12). Overall, it was Rantanen's sixth game-winning tally of the campaign, the most on the team and one shy of his career best (7) set during the 2020-21 season. Nathan MacKinnon recorded three points (2g/1a) for this seventh performance of the season with 3+ points. It's MacKinnon's fifth straight multi-point performance, tied for his longest such stretch of the season. The center has collected 13 points (6g/7a) in seven games since the Avalanche returned from the Bye Week/All-Star Break. Despite missing 11 games due to injury, MacKinnon has taken over the team scoring lead with 67 points, and his 1.52 points-per-game average ranks second in the league only to Connor McDavid (1.79). J.T. Compher recorded four points (1g/3a) to equal his career high (also: Dec. 1, 2022, at Buffalo). Alexandar Georgiev earned his 23rd win of the season, tied for sixth in the league. After the game, players spoke about the team's resiliency, with Rantanen attributing the Avalanche's mental strength and ability to stick with it even when the team falls behind as the keys to their success. Similarly, J.T. Compher highlighted the team's belief and ability to fight until the end. In conclusion, the Avalanche's ability to come back from a significant deficit, perform well in afternoon games, and showcase the individual talents of players like Rantanen, MacKinnon, and Compher have helped the team maintain a strong record this season. With 13 back-to-back contests overall this season, the Avalanche will need to continue to draw on their resiliency and mental strength to maintain their success.

[NHL] 'Nicolas Roy' leads the team to victory
- (Denver = Wongeol Jeong) Tonight was the second of three meetings between the Avs and Golden Knights and the first of two at Ball Arena. The Avs are 1-1-0 against Vegas with the remaining matchup in the season series set for Feb. 27 in Denver. Nathan MacKinnon’s goal 25 seconds into the first period is the fastest goal by an Avalanche player to start a game this season and the club’s fastest game-opening goal since 2018-19 which was also scored by MacKinnon (0:11 on Oct. 13, 2018 vs. Calgary). The Avs wore their adidas Reverse Retro jerseys for the fourth and final time tonight, finishing 2-1-1 when wearing their reverse retros. Mikko Rantanen scored his team-leading 25th goal of the season and 21st of the year at even strength, which leads the NHL. Rantanen’s 25 goals are tied for fifth in the NHL while his 0.69 goals-per-game average ranks fourth. Artturi Lehkonen recorded two assists for his fifth multi-point game of the season and second multi-assist performance. Nathan MacKinnon notched his 251st career goal and is now one marker shy of equaling Anton Stastny for the fifth most in franchise history. MacKinnon’s goal was the first of the game, and he became the fifth player in Avalanche/Nordiques history to score at least 50 career game-opening goals, joining Joe Sakic (117), Milan Hejduk (66), Michel Goulet (53) and Peter Stastny (50). Darren Helm made his season debut and is the 38th player to appear in a game for the Avalanche this season, tops in the NHL and one shy of tying the club record since relocating. Colorado used 39 players in 1998-99, 2003-03, 2010-11, 2020-21, 2021-22.
